3 Keys to Finding your Best Job

  1. Define your knowledge, skills, talents, strengths, and sources of motivation to more fully understand who you are and what positions are the best match for you.
Work with a certified Career Development Coach or Specialist to help you understand how to assess your skills, strengths, and motivators. They are trained to use various assessment resources and tools to help you learn more about yourself and to help you make better decisions in finding the best fit for you.
  2. Research your career and vocational options. Learn more about different industries and positions in your areas of interest. New positions are constantly being created that people haven’t heard of. Find these positions/titles on job search sites and by researching www.onetonline.org and www.mynextmove.org.
  3. Focus on career design and mapping strategies with a certified Career Development Coach or Specialist to help you understand the career paths, knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to succeed in your chosen career or job family. This process will help you learn what is most important to you and how to make it a priority so that you don’t compromise too much of what you need and want in your life while working toward fulfilling your goals and ambitions.
